Before you travel
- Visit a travel clinic at least 4 weeks before your trip for immunizations. Some vaccines take weeks to become fully effective, and others may require more than 1 dose. There is a charge for most travel vaccines, and possibly also a doctor’s fee.
- Prepare a first aid kit: pain, fever and diarrhea medication, cold remedies, tweezers, scissors, and bandages. We recommend carrying mosquito repellent, antiseptic cream, water-disinfectant tablets and sunscreen.
- Buy medical insurance.
- Have a dental check-up.
